The Insider Story
Erin Patterson Podcast - Mushroom Lunch

Erin Patterson Facts - Alleged Mushroom Cook

Erin Patterson Facts

Since I started this podcast, I promised I would share what I knew about alleged mushroom cook Erin Patterson, but keeping in mind her case was before the court and subject to the orders of Australian law.

Ms Patterson denies all allegations and we are not implying she deliberately poisoned her relatives with Beef Wellington and mushrooms.

The 49-year-old has the presumption of innocence and the right to a fair trial.

Listen to The Erin Patterson Podcast Now

During the week, I was alerted to the Websleuths forum where I was referred to as “a journalist who says she knows Erin Patterson.”

So I suppose now it is now time for me to provide proof that I met Erin Patterson in 2019 in a Facebook group.

When there was a group split in 2020, I went towards a smaller group and we would, mostly, message about The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. In

Others had their own, larger group and they probably never gave me a second thought. Until these messages reached me a few weeks after the tragic July lunch - the clear message was back-off.

It’s ironic that I was the bad guy because now one of this group’s members  now has a book deal. With friends like that, hey?

Speaking of the inner circle, one of them is a committed commentator of this podcast. On multiple platforms, she’s been giving me some very wordy reviews.

In fact, one review filled nine screenshots and I admire the dedication because she has been flat-out reviewing since the end of April.

Here (below) is the first part of the verbose review on Podchaser. I liked it so much I turned it into merch.

It is important to note none of these messages came from Ms Patterson or were sent on her behalf.

Before this group chasm, I tested on social media the idea of an Erin Patterson podcast.

Someone saw the proposed podcast cover on Twitter and they were furious with me.

Remember, this is a real-life story about the deaths of three people who died.
Plus one of Erin’s Inner Circle now has a book deal.

BTW it wasn’t me (below). I can see why they thought I had a hand in it, but not this particular time.

Ms Patterson Was Sent These Flowers (see below) From Her Facebook Group

In her time of trouble, the other, larger group sent her these stunning blooms. The flowers sat on the fence like a security alarm for days while media descended upon her property in regional Victoria.

Since then, I have had it confirmed that these blooms were sent by the other group.

Back to the facts - the Real Erin Patterson Facts

Well here’s the proof you’ve been waiting for, complete with dog GIFs.

We were just two middle-aged mums and true crime fans in a group on the internet.

As you can see by this image (see below), Erin Patterson said in 2020 that I was a “good egg”. What does that mean? According to Vocabulary.com:

A Good egg is a friendly, old-fashioned way to talk about a good guy or a kind person. When you call your next door neighbor a good egg, it's clear that you're fond of her. The expression originally came from its opposite, bad egg, British public school slang from the 1800's for someone who was not nice. Fifty years later, good egg emerged as a casual way to talk about a good chap or a decent fellow.

Because I had also noticed on tv that Erin had a quaint turn-of-phrase using words such as shithouse and saying the media could “drive people off a bridge” with what she believed was harassment.

Anyway, drumroll, here it is, my proof and please note our group was so tight we sent sympathy gifts to members. Erin and I were the organisers. Okay, here we go:

There is more to come on this story as it makes its way through the Australian legal system, so make sure you listen to the podcast
